Chutney Podi

Description

Chutney Podi, also known as Chutney Powder or Idli Podi, is a dry condiment widely used in South Indian cuisine. It is typically made from a blend of roasted lentils (such as urad dal and chana dal), dried red chilies, curry leaves, asafoetida, and salt. Sometimes, additional ingredients like sesame seeds, coconut, or garlic may also be included. These ingredients are dry roasted and then ground into a coarse powder. Chutney Podi is often mixed with oil or ghee and served as a flavorful accompaniment to idli, dosa, or rice. It adds a delicious spicy and nutty flavor to the dish, enhancing its taste manifold.
